tune in now
Listen to deeply insightful conversations about what it means to be a Black female creative—packed with actionable business advice to help you grow your brand without losing sight of your true self. If you’re ready to link arms with inspiring Black women who see your shine, share in your struggles, and celebrate your successes—welcome, boo. We built this business podcast for you.
I launched “Heavy on Women of Color” to act as a space where Black women can be straight up about the struggles, setbacks, and societal pressures our paths to success are often paved with. It’s the real-talk podcast for creatives I wish I had when I was building my wedding-planning business and facing the kind of dilemmas that others weren’t (i.e. Will I lose leads if I put my headshot on my website? What do I do when a client disagrees that Trina is the best female rapper of all time? #firethem).
More than anything, I want this space to give you the confidence you need to lean into your authentic self as you chase your dreams. Because the world may not always be ready for your shine—but that’s why they invented sunglasses, honey.
you may have seen us on...
In a world that asks us to quiet down, dress differently, and conform to standards we had no say in setting, we do the opposite. Boy, bye. Bring on the leopard print and loud laughter.
Listen, we’re always game for reality-television recaps and tea-spilling (bloop!)—but we also want our listeners to walk away with actionable insight that helps them launch, grow, scale, or pivot their business.
Black girl magic, that is. We’re not just here to chat and laugh—we’re here to inspire our listeners to get bold, take action, and build the kind of businesses that bring them freedom. You’re welcome, world.
